"* Russian MOD tweeted that the U.S. had made strikes in Aleppo, Syria, that caused civilian casualties
* But a spokesman for the U.S. led coalition denied this claim, and a social media spat ensued
* U.S. said that the strikes were in fact in Manbij, 60 miles away from Aleppo
* Colonel Steve Warren added: 'Furthermore [Russia's] bombing is reckless and indiscriminate'
* Syria's fragile peace deal was broken within hours after President Bashar al-Assad vowed to retake the entire country

Verbal clashes between Russia and the U.S are nothing new – but rarely are these 'spats' played out on Twitter.

Yet on Wednesday, Russia's MOD took to social media to make the claim that the U.S. had struck Aleppo in Syria, causing a Twitter slanging match to ensue.

The U.S.-led anti-ISIS coalition spokesman Col. Steve Warren sparred with the Russian defense ministry after the agency claimed U.S. jets struck Aleppo on Wednesday, resulting in civilian casualties, Turkish news site Andalou Agency reported…"

Good to know Soviet, errrr Russian propaganda is still alive and well.

They have an army of people to post misinformation like this all over the net, which can be rather entertaining.

How did we get reduced to the point where USArmy Colonel's are getting engaged in twitter-wars?

I am struggling to put into words my opinion towards this… sad, childish, disheartened, immature, waste of money, time, effort & energy, misdirected focus… that's about 20%…

I agree totally … things really have changed ! Maybe the US will post pics on Twitter of Putin in his underwear ? No … Wait … he may like that !?
