It's with great sadness that I announce the passing of Mike Vogell. He attended almost all the HMGS conventions with Stan Johansen miniatures. He was a great figure painter, gamer and all around great guy. For those of us that were fortunate enough to know him, this leaves a tremendous hole in our hearts. |

Thank you MajorB. The person that wrote that is far more eloquent than I'll ever be. However, I easily share his sense of loss. |

Met Mike through our mutual friend, Jim Lombardi. And, while I wouldn't say I knew him well, I did enjoy the times I spent in his company at Fall-In these past few years. He was an enthusiastic miniature gamer and did much to promote the hobby in his community. He'll be missed. |

Sounds like he was one of the rare ones… Pass along his passion of wargaming as well as his sense of humor. May his spirit live on through everyone he shared a laugh with. Rest in peace. TRU |

This is terrible to hear. I knew Mike for many years and he was a gem. He and the late Jim Parcella (from Falcon Miniatures) were just a riot together. I used to work for Jim at the Cons manning the booth. One year, he and Mike had a fart machine under Art Fossa's chair at the Aide de Camp book stand and kept it going much to Art's consternation… God rest you, Mike. Give Jim my best. Eric |

Roll up the terrain and store it all away. Put the toy soldiers back in their box. Let the dice lie still, at last For it is with the fondest memories, To the sound of a bugle and muffled drums That we mark the passing of Mike Vogel May he find a game in Heaven. To a long time friend…Bob Liebl |

Darn Bob – that brought a tear to my eye. |

He and the late Jim Parcella (from Falcon Miniatures) were just a riot together. Funny – when I visited Boston back around 2000, I stumbled upon Jim's store. We got to talking and somehow Mike Vogell came up in conversation. I had to laugh – it seemed everyone in the miniature world knew mike Vogell. |
