Hello folks, How do you paint white or very silver gray hair? Am looking to do a Vietnam character figure based on a Gunnery Sergeant I served with. He was 41 years old and wore the standard high and tight flat top. I am using a RAFM figure to paint it. Its one from the weapons group and the flat-top is sculpted on the figure. Any tips, suggestions or help? I am not a very good painter and working in 20mm. As always, thanks for your help. Sam |

Or you can keep it simple: paint white, or gray, and apply The Dip, using Tudor color (black), or Royal Walnut (dark, dirty brown), for a more weathered, in the trenches, look. Matte clear coat after the Minwax Polyshades Urethane Stain dries completely (2+ days, for air drying time). Apply The Dip to the entire figure by brushing it on, then wicking away the excess, pooling spots, with the edge of a paper towel. The Dip will turn a simple, block paint job, into a good looking, finished figure, at arm's length. They won't win any painting competitions, but they're good enough to game with. Cheers! |

"Or you can keep it simple: paint white, or gray" and then put in some extra highlights anyway to really add some pop and then "apply The Dip." |

I use an aluminium colour and wash with GW black ink, with a matt varnish it works for me! White hair I use white, washed with GW Agrax earthshade, which, if you brush the excess off works for me as well
…as in the general here. |

I have had some result with a base colour of brown or black, a dark wash and then highlight with gunmetal grey for those silver areas around the like of the temple. |
