What kinds of stowage would be on late Victorian vehicles? I am familiar with WWII stowage, with backpacks and jerry cans all over the place , but pre-WWI? I haven't a clue.

Thank you.

Trunks, haversacks, bags

For VSF I would think lots of brass on the trunks

I agree with what Fredrick said, especially Trunks of various types. Also wooden crates. Perhaps a crock or two, and wicker wrapped jugs. Also, the occasional pith helmet, umbrella, or victrola. :)

Oooh. It would be great if someone would produce a pack of "Victorian vehicle stowage."

You could probably do worse than include some of Baueda LGS3 – link (and indeed LGS2) – it claims to be "15-28mm", which seems fine since crates and barrels come in varying sizes, but I'm not sure what actual dimensions are.

Apparently suitcases with panels of exotic animal fur were popular at some point in the 19th century.

Go to the model railway stuff. The Old West and Victorian period are well represented and you can find pretty much any object you might want

Chaps? Really?
- hampers form Fortnums;
- cases of Dom Perignon;
- steamer trunk;
- cleft sticks for native bearers;
- basket containing beagle or other sporting dog;
- case for fishing rods, butterfly nets &c;
- camp canteen containing eating utensils, china etc;
- camp furniture such as folding chairs and tables, parasols;
- (for other ranks) tea chests, tuns of small beer, barrels of grog.

Most of it would be in iron bound painted packing cases though
