Very well done! A nice touch having him sitting as he was reported to do on the actual trip. Larry |

If it was based on the Leutze painting…. But I have said that before. |

At least it's one step closer, John. |

Washington's not really sitting; he's just got one leg up on the gunwale. |

There should be a few more men in that boat. |

If I am going to be stuck with an inaccurate Betsy Ross flag, at least give James Monroe, the flag bearer, proper red facings. Seriously, I would rather have a set based on the iconic, WHICH I ADMIT IS INACCURATE) Leutze painting. Everybody knows what it is. It is much better known than an illustration in an obscure…where did it come from? I want the allegoric revolutionary characters in the boat. The aristocratic Monroe, the freedman African American, the Scotsman, the woman (who looks like she is doing the most work, for less pay), the hillbillies, the man getting sick over the side. Nice try. Nice sculpting. Now, be a good lad and go back and do it right. |

I agree with John on this one. |

The officer at the front (in the painting) looks more like Greene than Washington. link I agree with the OFM – it does look a bit sparse. |

If finances were no constraint, I'd order two sets -- one to paint up stock as a static diorama, and a second to pirate figures for a land-based command stand. The officer with telescope, standard bearer, and General Washington (standing with foot resting on a fallen log) would make a nice vignette / command stand. The extra two Marbleheaders manning the sweeps could make interesting conversions. Always nice to have a spare longboat in 28mm handy too. |

Good for them for trying. I suggest that they add more figures to the boat. Either way, it's too expensive for me, especially since it has no real practical use. Good to see someone at least trying even if it doesn't work out. |

Adding more figures wouldn't work for me. I would want the Leutze crew. Period. |

Well John, if you visit NYC go to the Metropolitan Museum of Art. That's where the Leutze painting is and it is enormous, quite a sight. And there's always the armor collection on the ground floor, and the Messonier painting of Friedland "The Apogee" in European paintings on the 2nd floor. |
