I'm fine with the WSS plastic for rank and file but
find the command poses way to stiff.
What metal range would work best with the Wargames Factory WSS.
looking to get command and grenadiers.
Thanks

I have to admit I have no idea,as my WSS are all 10mm,but I've been drooling over the pics on the Ebor website. The command look particularly tasty, and varied. I'd also like to know if they would work with WFF.

Of course,Russ of Old Glory projected a WSS line in 40mm several years ago…

Ebor seem to be a good match. I have used Old Glory without much diffference.

If you google image search comparison wargames factory WSS you will see quite a few photos:

Ebor! Yes I have been drooling over their figs. Perfect excuse to buy some even though I have some 100 figs from factory.

Intriguing. Was any progress made with the project?

Duc: well, this was at a Gettysburg FallIn,so some time ago(in fact the conversation took place in the Men's Room,if you want to know). I got the impression it was something Russ wanted to game himself,so it may come to pass. It would be done by Sash and Saber, and at the risk of being a gossip,I'll relay that Chris convinced Russ that completing current lines should be given priority. That said, at least a couple of new lines have been started since then.

But you never know. The 40mm was originally going to be a few display pieces--Chris expressed surprise that people wanted to game with them. Even after the initial set of AWI Continentals came out,IIRC it was at least a couple of years before he did the first British figures. In fact, when I asked if he might do some cavalry,he thought that would be "way down the road".

BUT,people started gobbling them up,and sure enough, light dragoons appeared not long after.

So the moral may be,if if enough people bug Chris(and Russ),who knows? Although I'd have to say, with so many types of uniforms, and headgear, it would be a major project to cover with anything approaching completion, and that would have to be done,to attract enough buyers to pay. As far as I know, there would be nowhere else to go to fill gaps.

I'm tempted to take the plunge into SYW,but waiting to see if Chris will expand the line to include Russians(40mm Russians!),and do horse and guns for the British and French.

Not asking for much,am I,Chris?

Many thanks von Schlockenberg. That explains why the Old Glory UK web site has a WSS section under 40mm Sash & Saber but no items listed.

At the moment I am trying to work out how I might use Prince August homecasts for this period but am struggling to find a suitable French infantry figure. A Sash & Saber WSS range would be a Godsend. (The Drabant figures that Old Glory UK stock are nice but too pricey to have in any numbers).

Duc: did not know that--as I'm in the US, I always go to the US site, which certainly doesn't list WSS. Curious.
Agree about Drabant, too rich for my purse. BTW,my software blocked the actual Drabant website as being an attack site. Something they might want to look into.

I assume the S&S FIW French line is too far out of period?

And D6, apologies for thread-napping,40mm definitely would not fit with WF!

I use modified officers from the WF box, having them holding hats, scratching their heads etc, the brigadiers I use are front rank, as is my artillery.

This pic shows some of the WF infantry officers.

I hope this helps?

I didn't much like the way the WF officers and drummers turned out, despite the great conversions on the Cardinal's website. Consequently, I opted for Ebor officers etc. and made up all the WF figures as 'rank and file'.

The Ebor figures are beautifully sculpted with lots of character and are great fun to paint.

Thanks! Just ordered Ebor!
