On 21 April 2009 I started a fictional 1813 campaign, to provide interesting battles to wargame. It was designed to make use of my wargames table and collection of figures and scenery.
On 31 October 2009 I converted it to a PBEM campaign. I wanted to bring in an outside influence to make the battles more unpredictable and interesting.
I also started a series of blogs to record the progress and development of the campaign. You can find the most recent here, and it has links to all of the earlier blogs.

In the past six years 84 players have taken part as one of the ten army commanders. The campaign has produced 217 battles to wargame.
Over the past year it has grown increasingly difficult to replace players who have left the campaign. Perhaps as a result I have come to resent the large amount of time required to run the campaign. And the battles, and resulting wargames, have become too predictable.
After a lot of consideration I have come to the conclusion that the campaign is still the best vehicle to provide me with wargames. So I will continue with the 1813 campaign, but revert to a solo campaign.
This will give me the opportunity to try out new ideas and refine the campaign rules.
I would like to thank all of the players who have taken part and hope that most have enjoyed the experience as much as I have.
