Those first two pictures sure look like Bundeswehr with G3's to me!

Cosmic Reset08 Feb 2016 4:29 p.m. PST

Yeah, but nice figs all the same.

NigelH08 Feb 2016 4:53 p.m. PST

Thats because they are Bundeswehr :-)
The review is about the new Bundeswehr figures, and I have a look at the two recently released NVA packs as well

So the post title should really read Bundeswehr and NVA figure review, as it does on my blog.

Yes it did seem somewhat confusing as to the title he put on this. Thanks for clearing it up.

Nice review.

Thanks for sharing.

Love your quip about Lance too, LOL.

These are produced by Under Fire Miniatures, and are about 1/50th scale. They look superb, so can't wait to see more released.

Looking forward to another pack for the Bundeswehr, with MG3, and Pzf 44.

Would love to see some prone figs for the BW and NVA too, in addition to Soviets, Americans, British, etc..

Just finished painting a platoon of the East Germans, along with a platoon of Eureka's 80s Russians. The Under fire figures are noticeably bigger than the Eureka ones. Both are superb sculpts but that raindrop cammo on the East Germans is a pain to do, though looks good at a distance.

Thanks for the nice comments guys.

As it happens my next commission went in last week and includes 8 more Bundeswehr. You'll be getting…

Bundeswehr 2: Platoon Command

1/ Officer. Moving at speed, with Uzi.
2/ RTO/Rifleman. Standing, peering around corner.
Armed with a G3 and carries a radio.
3/ Marksman. Seated, firing scoped G3ZF.
4/ Rifleman/Medic. Running slightly bent over.
Armed with a G3 and wears a rucksack to represent
a medic pack he made up himself.

Bundeswehr 3: Light Support

5/ Running, carrying MG3 w/ belt of ammunition draped
over left arm.
6/ Standing whilst firing Pzf 44. G3 assault rifle
slung.
7/ Posed halfway between kneeling and standing. Carries
G3 and slung Armbrust.
8/ Posed kneeling/firing Armbrust. G3 slung.

Hopefully that'll keep people out of mischief for a bit. All things being equal they'll be available late March/early April.

Long term I'll be adding a Milan team and two packs of Polizei.

Regards,

Bill Weston.

Awesome news Bill. I've been looking forward to the Bundeswehr support some I saw your first pack. Any plans for Soviet opposition?

NigelH09 Feb 2016 12:56 p.m. PST

great news, look forwards to getting hold of them.

Not too sure about the Sov's. One I've finished the Bundeswehr, the Polizei and given the NVA a Sagger, or PKM on a tripod, I may do VDV, or Spetznaz.

Generalstoner4909 Feb 2016 6:46 p.m. PST

Awesome. Cannot wait to add these guys.

Whatever you decide, will be great Bill, its good to see this period getting some attention in 28mm. Its inspired me enough to get back to making some vehicles, hell I may even try and get them cast up at some stage.
