So I've come to have a mild obsession with Carentan. It has everything I want: Elites, regulars, armor, counter-attacks, bloody suicidal charges, etc… I'm looking to delve farther into it than Wikipedia will get me and need to pick up some books. Can anyone recommend some not-biography books? I'm looking for more dry historical stuff than first hand narrated stuff. Maps would be a bonus. |

While not specifically Carentan, the 'Battlezone Normandy: Utah Beach' guidebook by Stephen Badsey is excellent for all the battles in that area. |

Oh and there's George Bernage's 'Objectif Carentan', which is very good. However, it's in French and I don't know if an English edition has been published or is in the pipeline (Heimdal only do English editions of some titles – others have 50/50 French/English, or an English summary at the back and/or bi-lingual photo captions or no English at all). |
