Hello to all. Here are (I hope) some better pics of the little 18mm diorama of Sgt. Ewart taking the color.
Thanks for looking!

Very nice paintjob. Well painted, realistic grey horses. It would be nice to see more of your work.

They look splendid John!! Great job onthe grey horses and the red uniforms. The eagle looks beautifull as well! I have seen it in person in the museum in London actually (just remembered that now!).

Cheers!

Rod Steiger, the movie Waterloo. Maybe the conversation did find place. Who knows, hell, lets just decide now that it did;)!

Napoleon: "Who are those terrifying looking men on grey horses?"
De La Bedoyere: "Sire, they are the noblest cavalry in Europe"
Napoleon: "That may be, that may be, but we will match them with our lancers"
Tatata! (Sound of trumpets and a scene with French lances being lowered(wrong lancer regiment in the movie though, but who cares!)

Aaahh, how the poor brain is filled up with useless noncense:) but such cool noncence;)

No you haven't……….Dr J.

The eagle, wot you saw in London, wos wot Stiles caught…'im that was first Royal Dragoons.

The eagle wot Ewart caught is in Edinburgh castle and far better displayed. RNBD (or their successors anyway) museum is there.

I love the idea that Boney…at that distance….through the smoke…..from Rossome …..picked out the Scots Greys (just the reserve of the Union Brigade and a fraction of the Household and Union Brigades' attack) and commented on their talents. As you say, what marvellous Polish lancers…but not a "Dutch" Garde or Ligne to be seen!

Great film. Awful Director. May he be forgiven, in whatever lower circle of Dante's Inferno he now languishes……….his War and Peace was worse. Quiet Flows the Don beat the lot…….
