You've got a scenario map, and you need to create some hills. Is there some way to just print out the map in very large scale, so you can trace the outline of the hills you need to build? The Editor finds out...

If you're curious about the new mechanics or are a newcomer to FiveCore and am in the market for ww2 skirmish rules, I've put together a walkthrough of a game turn for you.

link

It covers the new turn sequence and squad ratings, a quick glance at movement, firing and reactions and how rallying works now.
Not really enough to play a game yourself (it's an example, not a demo) but it should give you an idea of what is going on.

It should be viewable without a Google account, if it gives you any headaches, let me know.

We're very very close to the game being done, so I figured this was the time to do this.

How perfect or imperfect is this for running Pacific War games? I own FiveCore 2nd edition, is this worth it to pick up if I am looking at Brits vs. Japanese?

I don't see any issues with it. You can do things like stealth (for sneaking about the underbrush at night) and Japanese squad ratings are included, even if the focus is on ETO.

It's not custom made for pacific but i imagine you should do fine.

Jungle terrain you'll have to kind of suss out yourself, but that shouldn't be overly hard.

You've kept the '5 Men in Normandy' core but added some nice enhancements/improvements. I'm in.

Thanks for the detailed example, it sold me.

Huron – This is kind of the "Fan edition" :-) Keep the good parts but try to address some of the things that commonly is an issue for people.

Thanks!

Ivan, love the example of play; looks like a really exciting game. I really liked the original 5Core game but looks like you've inserted some really clever little additions in there without making it overly complicated.

I'll have to try it out.

The new actvation systems looks very cool and promising. I'm thinking about using it with In the name of the Emperor campaign rules.
Will you be releasing a new sci-fi ruleset with these new mechanics?
Cheers,

Blacksmith – The intention is to revise Five Parsecs into an updated, stand-alone version this year, and that will use a spin off of this. Certainly the same activations.

I can't promise a date though. In 2 months, we're moving to Michigan and I don't know how long I'll be out of commission due to everything being in boxes :-)

This looks great! I'm looking forward to it, and even more so to an updated Five Parsecs. :)

Cheers for the update Weasel :)
