Does anyone else find those dots distracting?

I think the dots would blend in quite quickly if you were playing on that board, the White drybrush helps a lot there.

Thanks for posting the link. I'm always torn with the pictures between showing what's going on – ie using them as a proxy for a map,- and showing the figures off. I'll try to take some close ups and post them in the near future.

The dots got discussed briefly on the blog and also on a Facebook posting I did. They're divisive I would agree. There'll stay like that for now as I need them to be flexible if I change my mind on square size. I may paint them green in the final iteration, as I couldn't find any non-fluorescent green sticky dots.

The other thing with the dots is that they enable me to mark up hill with squares.

Some of my local players weren't sure on the dots but all agree that once you start to play with them they sort of fade out. I prefer then to lines for squares or those hex blocks which look really unnatural (and, yes, I have been to Giant's Causeway).

There should be a few more postings of games like this over the next couple of months as I try to kick the rules into shape. When I'm happy with them I'll post them up on the blog.
