The Russians have new, upgraded submarines, and aren't afraid to use them:

Apparently, Russian submarine activity is back to Cold War levels, and they appear to be using a lot of them to tap into undersea cables, and/or to prepare them for destruction during the next war.

Countries around the globe are seeing a lot more Russian submarine activity off of their shores and naval bases, raising considerable concern about their actions.

I bet they lose a submarine this year.

As a submariner, I hope not.

But I wouldn't be surprised, the Russians haven't been spending anywhere near enough to keep their old boats watertight.
