The old Ral Partha D&D Battlesystem orcs… sadly almost impossible to find these days |

I like Eureka (well 18mm), Black Raven Foundry, Grenadier (Mirliton), and Khurasan. |

What about Splintered Light Goblins/Orcs? |
Cragglow | 04 Feb 2016 7:21 p.m. PST |
For 15mm Orcs you just CAN NOT miss. They are all good. Splintered light, Ral partha, Magister militum, BRF, Khurasan, Eureka, Grenadier, Essex. They are truly all good. And I recommend building from everyone, it leaves a great visual dynamic per base. But I use Demonworld for command pieces mostly. |
Ivan DBA | 04 Feb 2016 8:02 p.m. PST |
If you want GW-like, Demonworld are best. They are available from Ral Partha Europe and FASA. |

The old Ral Partha D&D Battlesystem orcs… sadly almost impossible to find these days. Agreed (and regret having sold mine off years ago), but the Black Raven/Old Glory Orcs have a similar styling to them: link |

I have some of those Orcs. I prefer the Battlesystem Goblins as well as the bugbears. I have a fair bit of those too. SLM Goblins, judging from my samples work well with the battle system goblins. |

The Blood Dawn range of orcs from Magister militum (1st Picture) are very nice figures but they are more Games Workshop style than Tolkien. All of the Blood Dawn miniatures are good but are really 18mm scale. For orcs and goblins is does not matter but 18mm dwarves for example look wrong next to true 15mm humans or elves. Eureka orcs from their 18mm Fantasy range are also good especially their warg riders. (2nd pic) Eureka is australian but are also available from UK and USA traders.

Other than mine, which are awesome :), I really like the Black Raven Foundry, Rebel Minis, Eureka, and Demonworld ranges. I have an order in for the new Battle Valor Games orcs, as they seem very nice. A quick note--The Battle Valor Games owner is not Alien Dungeons. I think he was helping them with the game but he is a different entity and from what I can tell, will be great to work with and order from. David splinteredlightminis.com |

Wow, the Battlevalor stuff is really nice! I was looking into something to go up against Copplestone's 15mm Dwarves and these may be it. |

Don't think so Bill. they have been orcs since 1996! they were designed for our "war in the age of magic" rules. martin

I would highly recommend the Magister Militum orcs. Very good sculpts, excellent casting (one of the best I've seen in this regard) and reasonably priced. Greek Geek |

Did you make the terrain in the pictures? If so, it's excellent. Are those streams resin over a painted base? |

Did you make the terrain in the pictures? If so, it's excellent. Are those streams resin over a painted base? Thanks. Yes, the river bed is textured and painted and covered in clear resin when it is dry. I bought the resin online from boat builder suppliers. Much cheaper than those mega expensive tiny pots from model railway and model Shops. |

Elves should be called Elves, Dwarfs should be called Dwarfs, and Orcs should be called Orcs – renaming the fantasy staple appearing miniatures something else seems confusing at best. Nice figures but the "I call them" naming turns me off. |
79thPA | 08 Feb 2016 7:24 a.m. PST |
I don't care for renaming things either; there is no need to call a dwarf (or whatever) something other than what it is. |

I have not got any of them so i can only comment on the pictures on their website. They look pretty good except for the boar riders. The boars seem to look more like dogs. 15mm.co.uk do have an interesting range. |
