I'm planning to use these old Ral Partha (the stamp on their base says 1977 but that could be a copyright date) for Dragon Rampant link I think they are Normans (based on looking at images from an old catalog) but others are saying Byzantine

Very old school defiantly Byzantines not Normans. |

Agree……in fact I thought they may have been old Garrison figs, but Ral Partha makes sense too. |

These don't look like the Byzantines in the Ral Partha historical range (not Normans at any rate), but perhaps were part of a release prior to Tom Meier's range that was released as part of the 1200AD range(the spears certainly look like old Ral Partha spears): link David |

They are definitely Byzantines; I have a few that I bought back in the day auction |

I don't think they are Normans, at least not all of them. A couple look like Bob's, one is a Larry, two are definitely Tom's, and the one in the upper left corner wants to be a Shirley. But he's stuck being Jim. |

Long time ago Ral Partha had "Ral Partha Imports" line. I think that historicals were sculpted by Perry's. I believe that those are them. Not 100% sure. Definately Byzantines, same size to fit with RP historical lines. |

I tried looking these up in the Imports line and they don't fit in with any of the Byzantines that were part of the Perry's Byzantine DA range for Citadel that I could find. I wonder if this is some of Tom Meier's early work that went out of production when he sculpted the rest of the line. Adamc1776 – did the base say Ral Partha 1977? I think it is great that you may have some quite rare figures here. |

I would say Byzantines, though they could be Normans too long in Byzantine or Lombard service to preserve their gear. |
