Hi everyone,

It's been a while, about 16 years since I last played Napoleonics, it was my first love. We have just finished our first game of Napoleonics reloaded!

It's quite a long post as I've gone all dewy eyed about my gaming past and why I have been absent from Naps for so long. Underneath my reminiscences there is my usual map, orbats, set up and AAR.

Damn

Reading your Blog I spotted The Napoleonic Wargame by GW Jeffery like you I borrowed it from the library, those lancers looked so fantastic I feel in love with Napoleonics.

I have just bought the book off Amazon

Thank you

Outstanding report and blog…….I too have figs based for 33:1….and am struggling with 20:1…..what did you do to convert GDB to 33:1? Would be very interested to see your fire charts….

I love GDB, but don't want to rebase everything….

Like it. I went for 1:20 a la Peter Gilder but always have 1:33 in my mind from the days of Terry Wise. Reality is, as I moved to Black Powder the size of units in figures became less important.

But you game looks nice and I will re read the scenario deployment rulez and consider doing a similat game

Cheers all,

Madmac64, I'm away from home at the moment so I don't have the tables with me.

It's quite straightforward, on the Artillery chart the number of guns models stays the same my stuff has 1 gun model for 2 actual Guns. All you need to do is change the casualties multiply the casualty result by 20 and then divide by 33. An easy way is half a casualty at 1:20 is a third of a casualty at 1:33 (roughly).

We introduced the third of a casualty to our table (5 or 6 on a d6 kills). It worked fine.

Same for the small arms table but on that one you need to change the number of figures firing from 20:1 to 33:1 again by converting, so 10 figs at 20 to 1 is 200 men which is 6 figures at 33 to 1.

Let me know if you have any problems, I can put my tables up next week when I get home.

As I said in the post the Artillery seemed a bit weak but I don't know if that's a GdeB thing.
