Attacking players in urban environments have become more sophisticated in their approach in recent games. Use of recon; a slow steady advance; use of overwhelming fire power from a safe distance etc. all ensured this was a relatively easy win for Federal forces. The Chechen terrorists and bandits didn't utilise the underground sewers, tunnels and basement links between buildings featured in the scenario to full effect and were brutally blasted out of their strongholds. Russian loses were fairly heavy but less than in previous encounters. Scale 20 mm Figures : Elheim, Under Fire, Orion, Platoon 20 Vehicles : F&S models and unknown diecast manufacturers, old Matchbox 1/76 cars Buildings: scratch built For more images go to Nottingham Wargames Club. I love the minis and terrain. Did the Chechen forces have any ATGMs or RCLs? |

Hi Ben, yes they had older Soviet ATGWs and plenty of RPGs. They should have KO'd more Federal vehicles but had a couple of turns of really appalling die rolls. |

What set of rules were used? |

Rules used – Rapid Fire with our own amendments for Modern warfare. The game play and scale works well with these sorts of engagements. More importantly, we can get a game like this finished within the confines of a club night – c.3 hours to set up, play and pack away. |
