Does anyone out there still use the 'Poleaxed 2', or even the attempted 3rd edition, of these rules for their Wars of the Roses games. I've got an old doenloaded copy of which, I assume,is the 3rd edition becuase the Contingent Sheet is slightly different to the 2nd edition version. Anyone still got any files etc I could use for these rules? Thank you. |

Not familiar with these, yet interested in learning what they are like. |

Poleaaxed rules are a Wars of the Roses specific set of rules. You can purchase them from the Lance and longbow Society or Freezywater Publications here in the UK. The only problem I had with them was the 'contingent sheet' as found in the rules. Each contingent sheet records all the information for one particular contingent, its orders, its commander and its casualties. A contingent, BTW, normally consists of one melee base and one bow base with either twelve or sixteen figures on each base. Our WotR armies are all 10mm Pendraken figures. It was slightly complicated but I found a download years ago of a contingent sheet which was more clearly defined(I have since made my own). But they are good rules and provide a great flavour for the period. |
