I am amazed at the non-level of discussion on Cold Wars. The time approacheth! C'mon, we need some vicious, vituperative venom and vitriol slung about. Let's get hyper, here! |

3 games planned: Friday at 3pm: Dead Run zombie games, loosely based on computer game Left 4 Dead. Jim McWee and I are co-hosting. Friday at 8pm---same thing again! Sat afternoon (IIRC): Force on Force in the Stan. Can't wait! |

Why? So it can become north vs south? Oooh howabout my flea bag hotel is better than yours? Let's relive Baltimore yet again! No thanks. |

Aw, c'mon, Rotundo, what's a little jugular-gnashing between friends? Besides, pxivh43's response is also perfectly valid. Fanboy-squee-ing is an honorable tradition of the run-up to the event. It's just that I haven't completed compiling _my_ "squee list" yet. The hard prt is that several squee-worthy games overlap/conflict. Darn, darn, darn, darn, DARN! (Squee.) |

I'm running the classic: Attack of the Corporate Zombies on Saturday afternoon. Sean of the Dead meets Office Space, what could possibly go wrong? Moe |

I was beginning to wonder if I was the only one that was going to Cold Wars. Registered for two games with the HAWKS. One on Friday evening and one Saturday. Another game I want to get into on Saturday afternoon. |
Rotundo | 04 Feb 2016 7:32 a.m. PST |
Alright I'll bite. I am running "Have fun storming the Castle". I am assisting in several other games including my son's two games. |

Pre registered and all set to go! |

I'm running a Renaissance game for the Liebls to show them how to play "Oh God! Anything but a six!" But it's going to be private. I'm not registering it, I'm going down for the Flea-market and to see some friends at the dealers area. I'm putting on bigger more splashy games at the 7 years War Con and Huzzah. HMGS doesn't seem interested in Cold Wars, why should I. |

HMGS doesn't seem interested in Cold Wars, why should I. If I go, it's not to support HMGS. I'd go to game and see old friends. |

Woo-hoo! Me 'n the Missus is pre-reg'd for Cold Wars! I'm playing in Howard Whitehouse's Return to the Temple of the Snake Princess game on Friday night, and Moe The Great/Santa Moe's Attack of the Corporate Zombie's game on Saturday afternoon. Mrs. Carp, however will be playing Surely You Geste, My Name is Beau (Don't Call Me Shirley) on Friday evening and Eric Turner's Africa on 2 Lire a Day." Saturday morning. |

Pre-registered for Cold Wars, bought a T-shirt, and even extended my HMGS a membership this morning. The whole process took about 5 minutes, tops. |
Disco Joe | 14 Feb 2016 5:51 p.m. PST |
Does anyone know what the t-shirt looks like? |

This will likely be my last as I'm moving to Colorado and it is unlikely I'll get in more than one big Con a year between Little Wars, Gencon, Origins, Fall In (my favorite), Historicon and Cold Wars. I intend to play games and just enjoy it as HOST,fuss, etc. etc. is still better than most any other weekend for a gamer. |

"I am amazed at the non-level of discussion on Cold Wars. " Really? Why? Otto is right. The amount of HMGS promotion is underwhelming. The flyer (that I just got a few days ago) is boring. Not something worth showing someone new that might be interested in going. Did it ever occur to anyone to post, oh I don't know, perhaps some photos of games on the webpage or in the flyer? |

Dear HISTORYGRUMP I enjoy all the messages about the upcoming HMGS east cons. It's like having three more Christmases I always feel my life is better than those who complain about theirs or find fault just so someone will listen. I do enjoy your post Walt. Hail Ragnar |

Thor, you know that some things are a universal constant. --Like rain at a picnic. --having to work on a convention weekend. -- a much-desired movie being sold out. --no parking available when the weather is horrible. --A child who has found an annoying nonsensical phrase or song and decides to repeat it over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over… You get the idea. My suggestion for the latter? Ear-plugs (text-plugs actually, in this case). Lovely grey areas of textual silence where the caterwauling and ad nauseum drum-beating is absent. Try it. It's soooooo lovely. |

Sore thor: By the time you joined TMP I had been attending (and working at) HMGS cons for over 20 years. So don't preach to me. Nut up and tell us how you support it other than with your august presence. I'm also not the one that brought up the fact that no one was talking about CW either – thank your friend capncarp who made that rather astute observation. Here's something to think about – why wasn't anyone from the con on TMP promoting it, like so many others do for their cons? And that, in part, was my point. Some of us are experienced enough to remember when HMGS did a lot better job promoting its cons and attracting people. But either way I'll be there, putting on a game or two, like always. Have been since the late 80s. |
