I need some of these to complete my first stage of Thud Ridge. I cant find them anywhere, Tumbling dice don't have them in their webstore. Oddzial Ozmy don't do them. What other companies do 1:600 aircraft? |

You can use the CH-53, and the A-3, respectively. I think that's as close as you'll get, unless someone produces them on Shapeways. |

The HH-53 was still under development in 1975 so would have missed out on being at Thud Ridge. (Assuming Vietnam's F105 reference, here). The testbed airframe was 4433 for the Pave Low project. The only model HH-53 I have seen was by Revell of Germany. Would love to hear of more. Didn't some of the older Revell carrier kits come with B-66's, F-4 Furys, A-4s, Cougars, Banshees, skyraiders and Vigilantes? Not sure what scale they were but I remember they were pretty small in the 60's. Might want to check out the scale by searching EBay for old Revell, US aircraft carrier kits. Just a suggestion. |

Yeah the CSAR Bird in Vietnam was usually an HH-3 however I always thought that the HH-53 was deployed late 67 or early 68. OK a quick google brings up this site link Which states "September 1967, Detachment 2 at Udorn RTAFB received its first 2 HH-53Bs". personally I use "ISA879 CH53 Stallion x3" as it's the best available. And being a lazy I just use them as they come. However some people have done really good conversions on the model. Fatman |

Right guys just found this, TMP link Who says pain induced lack of sleep doesn't have its uses. ;-P There are several pictures of peoples models of the TD CH-53 converted to HH-53's, Hopefully this will help. I will now go back to trying to chew my own hip joint out. ;-) Fatman |

This image shows the TD A3 painted up as EB-66
The picture is from CAG-19/Si Tylers "I promise not to start any new wargaming projects" blog. Well worth a visit if you are into 1/600th scale air gaming. cag19.blogspot.co.uk As is his older "Raid Scale Gaming" site link Again hoping this is some help, if not it will definitely eat up some of your time.
