Hello all, I found this interesting and useful Instructable & wanted to share.I think it can easily be modified to take different kinds of paint bottles. instructables.com/id/Testors-Paint-Bottle-Shaker I myself use a l0cm long L shaped piece of 3mm round copper, flattened at the short end ( somewhat like a hockey stick). I use it with my minidrill on low speed ( very important :):):) or you'll have paint everywhere)to mix paints. I have even renewed old paints by adding some distilled water or dehumidifier water & mixing them. Hope you find it useful Z |

Reminds me of the one I made when I was a kid. I took the cover off a small aquarium air pump. The rotor had a magnet on top of it on which the Humbrol tins fit perfectly. Drop the tin onto the magnet, turn on the pump and it would spin and mix perfectly every time. DM |

I use an old rock tumbler. Takes longer so a bit of planning, but it works. |

I suggest a Vortex Mixer link
Used in chemistry labs and especially bio labs. About $300 USD new, often sold at excess for a few bucks. |

I got a mini slide clamp from Lowe's, ground and filed down the exposed metal end until I could fit it into my jigsaw, and I can clamp any kind of bottle and shake it up, even older paints (though I put BB agitators in those). |

I stir paints. I learned the hard way shaking them can cause paint to get on the threads of the jar which hardens and makes the lids hard to open, and can even contribute to the paints evaporating more quickly. |

I like using coffee stirrers, especially the ones from McDonald's. they have a small, spatula-like end. |

I was told I could go blind from too much shaking of paint jars |

An 8 year old hopped up on sugar and coffee can shake that paint up fast. Best to borrow one, though, as you can return him/her to avoid the inevitable crash… ;-) |
