We played this small and little known battle last week. An isolated Prussian corps was caught by a much larger combined Austrian and Reichsarmee force.
We used Honours of War and they worked really well again. More photos and an AAR can be found on my blog carryingsonupthedale.com |

Another fine set of pictures and a good narrative. Thank you Colin. I have just got these rules and wondered about the practicalities of using them with my existing 15mm SYW figures, which are based 4 infantry figures to a 20 mm square or 8 on a 40 z 20 mm base and 2 cavalry to a 25mm X 30 mm base. I noticed some of your cavalry are in pairs, others in threes. Am I right in thinking that you just have to stick to the idea that a cavalry regiment has same frontage as an infantry regiment? |

Thanks. my cavalry basing harks back to another set of home grown rules. Lights are in 2's and heavies in 3's. I don't bother with that frontage convention, I just use my units as they are and it doesn't make any difference to the game. |
