So I've been looking at Team Yankee and while it looks to be a hoot, I'd also like to do some more serious gaming of that period. I found a small scenario where a US company tries to hold off the tip of the Soviet spear. It plays on a 4x5 table and the force sizes are manageable. So I'm going to try it solo using different rule sets. The rules I'm going to use are: - Fistful of TOWs III
- Team Yankee
- 5Core Brigade Commander
- Command Decision
I'll be asking for some advice from time to time and will post some thoughts here over the next few weeks. |

Mark, For what it's worth, if you're going to play a game of the size in your other two posts, you're going to want to use 5Core Company Command, not 5Core Brigade Commander. In 5CBC, the whole US force would be one stand of tanks with one M-113 attachment. I'm on my phone so I don't know how to post a link, but if you go to blackhawkhet.blogspot.com and hit the tag for "Team Whiskey" you'll see a ten batrep campaign played out using 5Core Company Command. If you've got a scenario with larger forces than described in the other two posts, I humbly apologize, please disregard. V/R, Jack V/R, Jack |

I love this idea of doing the same scenario with different games. I did something like that way back but I never did write anything down. |

I'm having fun writing my own rules but pinching the best bits that I like from other rules and boardgames. I'm using:
- Air+Armor for the Operational Level tasking of formations (Regiments, Brigades etc)
- FFOT3 for the anti-tank rules
- Panzer Blitz for the anti-infantry rules
- Battlefront WW2 for the Bn level morale checks
- Some of my own bits to add a bit of variation
Seems to be working OK |

"I love this idea of doing the same scenario with different games. I did something like that way back but I never did write anything down." I have a couple of standard scenarios I use for testing rule sets, specifically Bussaco for Napoleonics and Agira for WW2 operational (rather rather obscure division sized scrap in Sicily in 1943). Not really settled on a single one for WW2 tactical, but I have a core of half a dozen I've tried with different sets of rules. As long as they include combined arms, engineering and attack/defence it covers most of the bases. |

Command Decision is also a higher level game, a company would be just a few stands. |
