I'm not in the same league as many of the modelers here, but I do enjoy creating ships that aren't necessarily in the main stream of age of sail gaming.

USS Pennsylvania was our largest age of sail ship, which never engaged in battle, was probably never completely outfitted and spent most of her life docked. I believe she only made one voyage. Inspiration for the kitbash came from the model here:

I used the SoG Orient as the basis for the build.

More photos and the thread on the build can be found on the Sails of Anchorage forum if you're so inclined. Cheers!

I have her in 1/1200 from… Skytrex? Anyway, yours looks much better. Great look.

Very nice work!

Quite nice, Pennsylvania was meant to be used to break the blockade of a port, never to be an Ocean Cruiser. Her design was somewhat based on Santissima Trinidad (but as a 3 decker, not 4) but she was much more heavily armed and framed under the American rather than European standard which would have made her much tougher. The ratlines are particularly nice on your model, so you converted this from a Sails of Glory ship?

@ jowady Yes it was one of the French First Rates that came out in Wave 2 (Orient) of the Sails of Glory sculpts. Keith from the Anchorage/Aerodrome Accessories Store produced the brass ratlines. He's actually working on ratlines for all of the First Rates in Wave 2 as well as the special releases of HMS Victory and USS Constitution. Also a restock of existing ratlines is planned.

Beautiful Jim. What do you mean your not in the same league? You are in the majors and surpass many, including me!

Vol, very nice of you to say that, but I don't hand craft my masts or ratlines! Your work is amazing. :)
