Hi there,
I figured this would be a good game to have a few people playing. Anyone who knows the game, can you suggest how best to plan a MP game. Should i let each player design their own package? Maybe a USN force and a USAF forces plus a couple of NV players?

I'd be inclined to have a player-umpire for the North Vietnamese, and then everyone else American, either with a discrete package each, or if you're feeling evil, with different players in charge of each mission type, so one flying the Iron Hand birds, one the main strike, one the Phantom escorts etc, with maximum scope for friction (especially if you give your most headstrong player the escorts)…. ;-)

I like that idea….better get some decals ordered from you mate to get them looking nice!

So how about a package like this
1st player- RF4 recon and 2 f105 wild weasels maybe the eb66 but i think this can go on autopilot overseen by the umpire
2nd player- 2 sections of F4 CAP
3rd player- 4 thud strike

Umpire plays the nva maybe with a 4th player taking any MiG flights (i have 30 Mig Models so it would be a shame not to use them!)

I could do a combined USAF/USN strike and add a small Navy package of 4 A7s and Phantom Cap that could be another 2 players…..fun!

That looks pretty good to me – everyone has something to do, but the total numbers should clip along at a good pace, while the separate roles mean the USAF's results may well depend on how well (or badly….) they coordinate their missions.

What do you think a linebacker era package should look like?
F4s galore i guess but i would like to use some f111s and maybe a b52 or two later

Can't do much better than point you at this. It might just need scaling down a little bit…. ;-) (The link's on the right page: 152-153 gives a full breakdown for a typical package.)
