So I'm almost finished with 12 white russia hussars. So I decided to rebase my Ahtyrka hussars to the new style I use for basing, much more dynamic. How ever the perry bases in the cavalry is VERY VERY thin, getting them off the old bases was a nightmare. I only glued them with wood/pva glue, so not super glue or anything. Yet the bases bent, wobbled, legs loosend from the base. chipped paint everywhere!!! |

I hear you. Next time, place the bases in a tray with some water, just enough to cover the base. Next morning, pop them off with a thin blade. |

Yes, the water treatment works brilliantly. I had masses of 15mm with PVA/ sand bases on plywood. Overnight soaking made rebasing an easy job. |

I find 10-15 minutes soaking softens up PVA. I pop the figures off with a paint knife (also used to apply gel to bases). |
