I just received some lovely Perry figures for Canadian 1860's militia horse I'm using for the Royal Montreal Cavalry in the Fenian raids and was surprised to discover they had no carbines. I know the Canadian government purchased carbines, were they not issued? |

I checked out some old photos on many sites, and all the Hussar units had carbines, whether Snider or Spencer,And the Royal Montreal, participated as reinforcements at Ecciles Hill.I don't know for certain, but I can't imagine them ,not being trained as dismounted rifleman. |
