is dedicated to miniatures, terrain, and rules … you know … your wargaming stuff?

I have one room, a display stand, a shelf, and a closet out of a 2000 square foot house, so about 10%.

Col Durnford27 Jan 2016 2:18 p.m. PST

2/3 of the basement of a 2100 SqFt Tri-level is mostly mine (basement is not counted as part of the total Square foot size). Also, 3 bookshelves in the office (out of 5).

AGamer27 Jan 2016 2:24 p.m. PST

My home office, two storage racks in the garage and three racks in the basement, call it 250 square feet out of 3750.

Doug MSC Supporting Member of TMP27 Jan 2016 2:32 p.m. PST

My entire Living room and dining room, one bedroom is my office, one bedroom is my library, and my entire carpeted three car garage. Of course besides gaming, I run Miniature Service Center from there.

About 800 sq ft on a basement level, so about about 1/5th of my house (as per VCarter, that basement doesn't count toward the total square footage of my house, so it's hard to judge fully).

Texas Jack27 Jan 2016 2:51 p.m. PST

I would guess a good 20% of my house, it is a rather large-ish game room (at least by European standards!) which also includes my painting table and storage.

one room, 2 closets (one is "family games", 2 sets of book shelves.

And I can command enough room to set up a 5x9 table.

so close to 10% (fairly nice split level)

1/3rd of my garage and one bedroom that is my library and where I paint.
All I can say is that I am married to a wonderful woman.

Thanks,

Pat

ACWBill27 Jan 2016 3:35 p.m. PST

40% and that is nearly the entire basement of my home. That's 2,500 square feet of gaming joy. I use it all!

Mooseworks827 Jan 2016 4:11 p.m. PST

I have my own war-room. Also I have the workbench in the garage for casting 54mm toy soldiers.

vdal181227 Jan 2016 4:14 p.m. PST

The entire basement pretty much is mine to use for gaming. So that would be about 900 sq ft

wrgmr127 Jan 2016 4:40 p.m. PST

About 8%, part of the spare room.

Old Contemptibles27 Jan 2016 4:54 p.m. PST

A two car garage for storage and gaming. I still park my cars in it between games. One bedroom in a three bedroom house. Don't know the percentage. That would involve math.

Coyotepunc and Hatshepsuut27 Jan 2016 5:10 p.m. PST

I have a 18"x18" four-shelf rack, the top two shelves are fir minis, the third is terrain, and the bottom is for books. The space between my end table and wall holds my 2'x2' game boatd, I have a 4'x4' upright against the back wall of the closet. Under the bed I have lots of little boxes of projects in progress. The bottom shelf of the linen closet holds my paints and other supplies. But the only *visible* hobby stuff is the four-shelf unit.

Oh, and I have a 5'x10' Storage unit down the for the stuff I am not currently working on.

Pictors Studio27 Jan 2016 7:42 p.m. PST

About 40%.

Personal logo piper909 Supporting Member of TMP27 Jan 2016 7:58 p.m. PST

The largest bedroom apart from the master, plus storage space in the garage, shed, closets, attic -- say, a solid third of all space, perhaps a tad more.

Frederick Supporting Member of TMP27 Jan 2016 8:00 p.m. PST

Most of the time, about 200 square feet in the basement (total living area in the house with the basement would be about 3700 square feet) – for gaming, though, I can take over most of 1200 square foot basement

FusilierDan Supporting Member of TMP27 Jan 2016 8:13 p.m. PST

About 100 square feet or 3% Sometimes there a little creep but it's quickly reeled in.

Martin Rapier28 Jan 2016 12:09 a.m. PST

I have colonised most of the spare room with my stuff, which includes shelving from floor to ceiling. Items of militaria are distributed around the rest of the house in a couple of locations, and all my tents, camping equipment, folding tables Tec live in the cellar and the loft.

Yesthatphil28 Jan 2016 6:14 a.m. PST

My old house was dominated by figures, terrain etc. Moving into a new house I am working on taking over as much space as they'll let me wink

Major portion of the basement including three tables plus about 40% of the two large book shelves in the library (wife is a closet bibliophile.)

Personal logo etotheipi Sponsoring Member of TMP28 Jan 2016 6:56 a.m. PST

wife is a closet bibliophile

Mine, too. And a librarian. We have foregone insulation in our house in lieu of a continuous row of shelves lined with books.

It's probably the major factor in how I have the space I have for minis'n'such.

Not that I don't read avariciously and she doesn't play. But they're my minis and her books. :)

KSmyth28 Jan 2016 10:43 a.m. PST

I have an 8' X 8' room that is mine. It houses my painting space, unpainted figures, all my board games, stereo, vinyl record collection, a television and a couple racks of DVD's. Very much a multi-use space, but it's all mine. I have some bookcases in the other living spaces, but my painted figures live in designated storage in the garage. I dunno what percentage that is. It's useful space to work in but not a gaming area.
