Just wondering if there is a standard shipping time, via "air mail" from Jolly Old England to Texas, USA?

Lovejoy27 Jan 2016 2:59 p.m. PST

The Post Office usually tell me 'between 5 days and 6 weeks'… I guess they just don't like to commit!

It usually seems to be about two weeks.

It is Customs that takes the bulk of the time.

I've put in several orders from RPE and Magister from Denver and always received things in about 7 days.

US customs (well, usually security rather than customs clearance as such) is a lottery compared to most countries – my usual ballpark figure is 10-14 days more often than not, but anything between 3 days and 3 weeks isn't unusual, with occasional outliers taking longer, although they've definitely improved over the last couple of years.

(When US security rules first got shaken up in 2010, stuff taking 3 weeks plus was a small but noticeable percentage, especially in the run up to Christmas, when some packages even got bumped from air to surface mail through sheer lack of capacity, but these days it seems to be *very* occasional, with far more stuff falling into the more usual 10-14 days than used to be the case.)

It really depends, the items I have ordered from H&R arrived within two weeks though.

Back in 2006 I was in Houston and it was taking 8 days from when something went into the post at a street post box in London to when it arrived at my apartment.

I can't see why it would have changed much so I'll agree with the above, 5 to 10 days is reasonable fro small items.

I ordered from Copplestone on January 15, and I received the figures in my mailbox on the 25th. So, 10 days from the order, which is fine with me.

I placed an order with Copplestone on Jan. 16th & received them today. I live in the Dallas metroplex.

I placed an order with Heresey on the same day & haven't received word if they have shipped.

Orders from Foundry take 2 to 4 weeks, depending on if they have to cast some of the figures.

Longest I've ever had to wait was 6 weeks a few years ago.

does seem slow lately for international shipping. Probably a combination of post xmas glut & US customs. I am waiting on 2 orders from TAG and Foundry placed just before Jan 1st.

I figured that it was customs and I'm just trying to get a handle on a small order that I had from the UK that I know was shipped about 2 weeks ago. Really anxious for the stuff but I guess it will be here when it gets here. Thanks all. BTW, this is why I hate to see English lines that no longer have US Distributors. It's great to know that if Brookhurst or The War Store has something in stock I'll have it in 3 days.

I have also ordered multiple things from the UK and had them delivered to TX (the Dallas area). It has varied greatly from 10 days to 4+ weeks. It is difficult to predict the times.
