So I've been thinking of moving the Mansions of Madness board game to the tabletop with miniatures and movement speeds etc. I think I like the game mechanics well enough. So what might be some pros or cons, changes you might suggest, issues that might come up. etc.? cheers Duane |

I'd wonder what the advantages would be. MoM is not a tactical combat game by any means; in fact, combat is rare and often to be avoided. Furthermore, the system relies heavily on the sector-based movement and weapon ranges, which fits the scenarios which are mainly indoor encounters. there is the Call of the Wild expansion which takes place in more open areas, but I haven't played it. |

I've toyed with the idea of an Arkham Horror Table top game with miniatures but there wasn't enough of a RPG feel. The game works well for fast action in a complicated system. On the other hand I have really liked the way MoM has been going. I also like the sector based movements. I could see sidewalks, garden paths, or hedges dividing spaces on the table. My trouble is that I have figures from both RAFM Kick starters, Reapers last two, and so many nice Deep Ones being released. I need a good game system, not too complicated for a quick miniature game with loads of toys. Besides I have one of the large Gug from Avolak Castings that I need to get on the table. |
