I was trying to find the right word for "Armored Walker" would it be PanzerGehhilfen or PanzerGeher? Thanks! |

I like the second choice for it's simplicity, and it looks like you can pronounce it "panzergear" in English. This, of course has no bearing on what might actually correct. |

I'd be inclined towards Panzerkampflaufer (should have an umlaut over the a in laufer.) /Kampfläufer seems to be the term used in descriptions of Star Wars AT-ATs and similar, so is presumably correct. Gehhilfer might work for an exoskeleton, but not a vehicle that walks itself rather than aiding a human's movements. link |

In the NUTS World Without End weird war II book I explain in background that: Germany pioneered armored walking machines, debuting its first design at the 1936 Olympics. Officially called "Geländefahrzeuge zu Fuß", or "All Terrain Walking Vehicles," a senior German leader stumbled at the description of the machine at the unveiling and called it a Panzer Mechanisch by mistake. The name Panzermech stuck as common parlance. German Combat Walkers were well designed, innovative fighting machines that saw action in every front of the war. common parlance. German Combat Walkers were well designed, innovative fighting machines that saw action in every front of the war. link Here's a BATREP from many moons ago: link Agis at AD Publishing did an awesome job on the 1/56th scale combat walkers from Company B! link |

As a germam i would support Doms Decals. Armored Walker = "Panzerläufer". BTW "Gehhilfe" is a wheel walker/rollator |

Thanks, I will use that for the German name(Panzerlaufer). Though I might have the allies call the German walkers Panzermechs. |

The term I use to refer to German walkers is "Panzerkampfläufer", abbreviated "PzKpfl" |

DP9 used "PanzerKampfer" ("Armored fighter," if I understand it correctly), PzKpf for the abbreviation. |
