Hi All. The above vehicle is listed by the ACE company as a future release. The image of it has got me very interested as an addition to my German Late War forces. As well as the 6 wheeled version, there was also a 4 wheeled version. However, there is very limited info out there. I have been able to determine that there were "a small number" produced and these were part of Schnelle Brigade West. This was the fore-runner of the 21st Panzer Division, Neu. Apparently there is a photograph of one in the Rheims area of France circa July 1944. Does anyone have any more info as to how many were produced and which units they served with. I am hoping to include the odd one in my 21st Panzer Divion. Cheers in advance for any more info. |

Hi Andy Thanks for that but the info given there is all for the standard French versions, not the armoured ones converted by the Germans. There is a very small amount of info on the converted versions but no real details. Cheers. |

From my "primary" source of definitive info on all things… Wiki. (Long may it rule the earth!) The Laffy S15T was a tow tractor for the 75mm field gun & 105mm howitzer The Laffy W15T was a cut down version of the S-model that was used to tow the 47mm AT Gun. If this info is indeed correct, the 21 Pz Division fielded a myriad of trucks and towed AT Guns. I recall seeing a number in the 40s counting the types of trucks used by the division. However, I do not recall seeing a be all & end all listing of specific makes and models. Also - From the WWII Vehicles site link Not exactly related but of possible interest. From Tanks-Encyclopedia link |

The majority of the 21st Panzer French softskins were just that standard softskins, the armoured versions that keep cropping up seem to be from the early days of schnelle brigade west and were prototypes or trial versions. There was also the V15T light gun tow. I believe even S20TL were used in the PzGrenadier Bn's |
