" Standard Manufacturing Company's DP-12 Double Barrel Pump Shotgun would have been right at home blasting baddies in the 2005 sci-fi movie "Doom."

The great thing about SHOT Show is there are always these strange, hybrid weapons at range day that just put a smile on my face.

The DP-12 is a beefy weapon that holds 16 rounds of 12 gauge shells -- 14 in the two tubular magazines and two in the chambers. It features two 18-7/8- inch barrels.

It may be more of a novelty than an effective, tactical shotgun, but I just had to shoot it…"

Some engineer had fun designing that. More of a toy than a tool. I wonder how many they'll sell?

At the National Firearms Museum they had a four barreled bolt action elephant gun a machinist made for himself. Apparently he felt he needed the insurance.

I have an extension for one of my Remington 870s that allows me to load 8 rounds. I am sure that it would be just as effective and a lot more reliable. And I know that it is a lot cheaper -- $300 USD for the gun and extension. I'm ready for the Zombie Apocalypse, are you?

It was at last years SHOT Show. Released in June and sold out.
