Why, yes we did!
And it's still got a day to run!

Another vote for British Grenadier, although Peter Pig's "Washington's Wars" is very good for tournaments or "pick-up" games on a club night.

So far we have primarily used Black Powder with the Rebellion supplement which works great.

We have also successfully used Regimental Fire and Fury, but you need to do the troop conversion for that as they do not have a AWI supplement. You can downlaod the QRS with the scale conversion their site though.

I do want to give Land of the Free a try as well.

Have played Loose Files and American Scramble since it came out and still enjoy it. Recently have tried Fire and Drum and enjoy them also.

I am a fan of the Peter Pig game Washington's Wars'- the pre game allows for a challenging game where as the commander you have to make a number of decisions. Not all your troops will necessary turn up when/where you want them recreating some of the fog of war, always fun always challenging.

Thank you DB and SM! Washington's army has provided some excellent games over the years.

Our goto rules for the period are 1776, thought Age of Reason would work well also.

Guns of Liberty is one of the most playable sets of rules I've ever encountered.

Loose Files and American Scramble.

Regimental Fire & Fury.

Guns of Liberty is my second favorite. Might even go back to it someday.

I call conflict of interest! Are authors allowed to vote for their own rules? Humph!

Is version 3 ready yet, Eric? :-)

Eric's rules deserve as many mentions as possible so I cancel your conflict of interest and restate they are wonderful rules. But I, too, wonder about version 3 – less for any changes but for a change to acquire the rules properly. Unavailable, so far as I know, for so long that my only copy is a copy someone gave me to read before playing them. Ain't giving up that copy, neither, unless I get a real set!

DinOfBattle201 Feb 2016 6:27 a.m. PST

Hi YA and EMW,

I have one copy of the 2nd edition left, with a sale pending on that one.

The good news is that I'm in negotiations with a publisher to create a 3rd edition. We are discussing a Fall release, but that depends on the publisher and my timeliness of getting the upgraded material to them.

What will v3 have that v2 doesn't you ask?
1. Cleaned up text and clarifications based on feedback from GoL gamers.
2. More examples
3. 21st century graphics\layout
4. Sample scenario.

Drawback – It will be more expensive, but should provide many years of enjoyment.

It is a testament that these rules are still being played and enjoyed 18 years after I published them.

Eric
