That's not a review. It's a summary, consisting mostly of quotations from the rules. It's a good summary, for sure. I have played the basic game once, so I guess I'm qualified to review it. Here you go: I played a four-player game with three other very experienced wargamers. We had a great time. The rules and other things you have to think about are enough to keep you on your toes, but not overwhelming. No one ever has enough resources, which is as it should be. That forces you to make choices and take risks. Each faction has different abilities and ways to improve. Read all of your faction material carefully so that you can figure out a suitable strategy that plays to your faction's strengths. We're all fans of Lovecraft, but you really don't need to know anything about the background to play the game. |
