All, I am scratch building some 1960-70 Spy-Fi terrain and have hit a snag. What I want to build is some of those clear status boards seen on naval ships on the bridge/CIC/etc. The one I am thinking is of the plexiglass ones that someone stood behind it and wrote on it backwards so the big-wigs on the other side could read it. My normal course of action would be to google image search some examples and then go from there. My snag is that I don't know what those boards were called. Did they have a technical name that I might be able to pull up some example pictures. My plan is to create the board in Illustrator and print it out on overhead transparency paper and mount it in a plastic frame. |

There two types: status boards and plotting boards. Status boards are basically spread sheets to display info on the status of ships, planes, etc. Plots are the ones with the circular grids for showing the positions/speed/course of ships/targets in the area in reference to own ship. You actually had it right. Google "CIC clear status boards" and look through the "images" section. |
