Are there any good miniatures stores in Cincinnati or Dayton? Historical, sci-fi or fantasy is good. Thanks, irishserb |

If it's still around, the Crystal Keep in Kettering for the typical 40k, Flames of War suspects… Newport Games just across the river in N. Kentucky worth a look. |

Crystal Keep died a number of years ago. There is a hobby store not far from the Dayton Mall called The Hobby Shop which carries model kits, FOW, GW stuff, X-Wing, a little bit of Bolt Action, Wings of War, and the like. Almost nothing for me in terms of historical gaming but, if you are in to fantasy and sci-fi, you will probably find a nice selection of stuff. They also have a great selection of paints. Bell, Book and Comic in Dayton carries mostly comics and clicky/card game type stuff, but they do have a selection of board games. Epic Loot is in Centerville. They are mostly comics and GW style fantasy and sci-fi, as well as card games. They do have a display case of second hand minis for sale. They also have a large selection of new and used board games. The nice thing is that all of these stores are within a relatively short (less than 30 minutes) drive from each other. I'm heading out now to hit the loop. The Bookery in Fairborn is more of a hike. They carry a lot of comics, novels, RPG gaming stuff, games, as well as a small selection of fantasy miniatures. |

A couple in Cincy – Eastside Comix & games – recently underwent ownership change Yottaquest – Scifi, comix, boardgames, RPGs and some historicals yottaquest.com Boardwalk hobbies – worth a trip if only to get a Zipps burger right next door. I think there is another newer gamestore in the Milford area near Eastside, but unsure of the name or address. Madcam |

Way back when,Crystal Keep was an awesome store. Even though it was a 3 hour drive one way,it was worth it! |

Boardwalk Hobby Shop, Cincinnati, Mt. Lookout Square: link Mostly plastic kits & modelling supplies, Ospreys and boardgames. Stocks lots of 1/72 and 1/32 plastic figures and 54mm toy soldiers. Deals in collectible toy soldiers: Britains, Marx and others, old boardgames and other toys. No (0) metal wargaming figures in stock, but will order from distributor. HobbyTown: hobbytown.com/Cincinnati-OH Carries model kits & supplies and some boardgames. Again, lots of 1/72, 1/32 and 54mm plastic figures, but no metal *historical* miniatures. I think I've seen boxed sets of science fiction figures such as 40K. Carries Wings of Glory and X-Wing. Also carries model railroads, flying, rolling and sailing RC models, and some cheap toys. Eastside Games in Milford: link Carries boardgames, lots of science-fiction miniatures, Flames of War, collectible card games, modelling supplies. Possibly the most historical-miniatures-friendly of the local shops, has a lot of game tables in-store and hosts whatever the customers bring, including one-off and campaign historical miniatures games. If you have time to spare while you're in Cincinnati, irishserb, look me up. I'm on Linwood Ave., just a few blocks above Boardwalk Hobby. Email is zippy-at-fuse-dot-net. |

Yotta Quesr is gone now. You can visit the Iron Wind guys and buy direct! They moved though so I don have an adress. I do know they are off of Glendale-Milford Rd in Evendale. |

When are you coming down this way? We are gaming Wings of War at The Hobby Shop in Miamisburg (south of Dayton) next Saturday, and I live two miles from The Boardwalk…no minis any longer, but they have Ospreys, paints, modeling supplies. I also have a new shop (Arkham Games?) about a mile from me. Looks like sci-fi/fantasy from the window. |

The Game Haven is a small comic/game shop near the USAF Museum. Some Flames of War and Games Workshop, lots of Star Wars X-Wing and Armada, board games. |
