I have written up and planned the second of a planned series of WW2 historical scenarios based on the operations of the Hampshire Regiment (7th Battalion) of the 130th Brigade, 43rd (Wessex) Division in Europe July 1944 to April 1945.

This takes place on 31 July 1944 and sees two companies attacking across farmland towards a ridgeline objective. A German Kompanie is defending.

The post is, as per the first scenario, very long as it contains the scenarios followed by an AAR. I used some company level rules I have written that are extremely similar to my battlaion level rules. The game was played using 6mm forces on a small 28"x19" table.

I actually played it weeks ago and had most of it written up two weeks ago but socialising and the opportunity to get some games with my 20mm forces held up completion.

Very nice Shaun, just shows you don't need a massixe 8x5 table!

Wow, brilliant Stuff Shaun! Amazing detail. Thanks for posting.

Thanks Martin. Before 2009 I do not think I had played more than 2-3 WW2 games on anything less than a 9'x5' table tennis table (with 20mm). 6mm definitely opens up opportunities for scaled down fun.

Thanks Shaun, I really enjoyed that (I am still in wargamers exile ! With the house move). I think the scenario benefited from just the right amount of terrain.

Thanks Norm. I did not choose the terrain as such – it is a reasonable rendering on the actual battlefield! But you are right in that the terrain translated into a great game on the table.
