Registration is now open for the "Bloody Big BATTLES!" convention, Bash Day, which will take place at Wolvercote Village Hall, Oxford link on Sunday 10 April. Sign-up sheet and more details can be found on the OWS website:

A dozen dedicated gamemasters will be laying on an exciting variety of nineteenth-century historical battles for BBB players to fight. Come along and enjoy the fun. There will be a £5.00 GBP charge on the door (cash only please). Doors will open to players at 09:00am. Most games will start around 09:30-10:00am and run until about 13:00, and then be played a second time between 14:00 and 18:00.

Balaclava (1854), Crimean War. (2 players.) GM Malc MacDowall.
Montebello (1859), Italian War. (2 players.) Dave Whaley.
Solferino (1859), Italian War. (6 players.) GM Chris Pringle
First Bull Run (1861), American Civil War. (4 players.) GM Dave Whaley.
The Wilderness (1863), American Civil War. (4 players.) GM Chris Pringle.
Dybbøl & Als (1864), 2nd Schleswig-Holstein War. (2 players.) GM Haim Ben-Zion
Langensalza (1866), Austro-Prussian War. (2 players.) GM Dave Whaley.
Gitschin (1866), Austro-Prussian War. (4 players.) GM Andrew Brentnall
Königgrätz (1866), Austro-Prussian War. (4-6 players.) Haim Ben-Zion / Simon Dunsterville / Bob Mackenzie
Laing's Nek (1881), First Boer War. (2 players.) GM Richard Oates.
El Teb (1884), Sudan Campaign. (2 players.) GM Pat Wingfield/Bill Runacre.

And a Franco-Prussian War Loire valley mini-campaign of three successive battles all to be fought on Bash Day:
Beaune-la-Rolande, Coulmiers & Loigny / Poupry (1870). (4 players.) GM Crispin Matson.

I believe that the Wilderness (ACW) was fought in 1864.

You are right of course, the Wilderness was 1864. Excuse the typo, and thanks for the correction. At least I got it right on the published scenario.

Registrations for the BBB Bash Day are going well but there are still spaces available. Highlights for the day will include regular TMP contributor Mollinary running a participation game for the battle of Gitschin (1866), which I am sure will be both spectacular and enjoyable. Noted author Mike Embree will also be present, so bring your copies of his books along to get them autographed. Come along and join us to meet old friends, make new ones, and enjoy some terrific games.
