I have taken a while to get this little lady finished but here she is
she is a conversion from a Dixon marching zouave! Wargames factory female head, a warlord games plastic soviet hand with bottle, a Perry hat and a bit of greenstuff. Painting stripes is fast becoming my least favourite painting. So TIG thanks for the colour scheme and hope she meets with your discerning tastes
I still have a couple of Tigers to go but the stripes are putting me off a bit! So thanks for looking Cheers for now Russ |

She should raise your Zouaves' morale. Good job, especially with the stripes. Jim |

Very nice my friend. I like the hat, it's different. Most of our Vivs wear the fez like the rest of us, but the hat is a nice touch. I'll have our Vivs take a look at this, so there may be more comments to come. Have a good day. TIG |

you know, that many people once thought that these ladies were somewhat common w-hores. In the book "gentle tiger" about rob wheat, it gives a bit of info on the women. |

braken you get the Viv seal of approval. My favorite Viv (the wife) really likes it. The blonde hair was good, since all of our Vivs (3), have blonde hair. And John, Tiger Rifle Vivs were more along the line of fighting nurses. They all carried pistols and swords, along with bandages and liquid refreshment. TIG |

Thanks guys, ColCampbell, the stripes are a bit of a pain! but well worth it. I'm not sure how I managed to paint a full unit! Thanks TIG, if I get the thumbs up from you I know I'm on the right tracks, I must admit to start with I wasn't sure how she would turnout but I reckon I got there in the end. john lacour, until I did a bit of research I thought pretty much the same. My opinion now is very different! They sound like some of them where truly Angels, even if some did carry firearms. Once again TIG if I get a seal of approval from a real VIV I'm a happy man. I made sure she carried some slightly stronger refreshments for the troops. The union viv will be a challenge, I don't just want to copy this little lady. I'm pretty sure the inspiration will strike hopefully sooner than later. GoodOldRebel, thank you also! I'm planning on adding some more troops to my collection sooner rather than later! So thanks again guys, all comments very much appreciated as always! Cheers for now Russ |

braken: If you can find a photo of French Mary, she carried a small wood keg over her shoulder. That would be different. Also, I believe that I/R made a 54mm figure of a Viv which might give you some ideas. Give her a pistol in a cavalry holster and a rapier or musicians sword and you would have a unique Viv. Good luck on this one. TIG |

Hey bracken I did a Bing search on vivandiere images. Take a look, lots of drawings and photos of French and American Vivs. |
