The Austrian 5th Hussars are ending their rest and moving out. They will experience their first battle Saturday, using Empire V rules. The buildings and dog are Hovels, the trees Snapdragon, and the Hussars are Foundry. Lovely sculps and casting-even the trigger is distictly moulded.

Thanks, Olicana. They were fun to paint. I'll rank and base them today. |

Nice looking unit Best wishes for success in their upcoming battles! |

Thanks, Frederick. Hussars can perform as battle cavalry if matched against other light cav opponents. I hope to pick a match-up they have a chance of winning. French cav can be tough. |

Fantastic unit and excellent photographs. The background really works but doesn't dominate. Great depth of field control. They do seem to suffer from an orientation problem, perhaps the 9 3/4 hussars on route from Australia or something How do you paint the lace ? – it's really good John |

Thanks, John. The orientation is a deliberate ploy to confuse a known French spy located on the courtyard. Photos are just phone camera. Glad you liked the background. The lace is painted with a detail brush (18/0) and then highlighted. |
