Hi all

I am looking for a modern ruleset that has the following :
1. One or at most two companies of infantry with various support options.
2. Infantry to be based on stands of three / four models.
3. One to one representation, one soldier/tank equals one soldier/tank.
4. Air – air support options including the abillity for battlefield interception of aircraft and aa fire.
5. I would like to be able to field as many different units as possible in an army including logistics and artillery units.
6. Gameplay – must be solo friendly and not overly complex.
7. I intend doing this project in 1/285 using either imagi-nations or cold war opponents. Set in 1960-1985 time period. India vs Pakistan or Iran vs Iraq also possible.

Any suggestions / advice would be appreciated.

I'll go with the obvious… Team Yankee or Fate of a Nation both from Battlefront.

FOAN is the Arab Israeli conflict from 67 so will need a little work for India v Pakistan.

Plus, you could always try A Torrent Of Steel…

Is it possible to recommend Team Yankee yet?

It's possible always.

Is it out? I only do aerial stuff for moderns (air-air, air-mud, air-sea) so I am not sure but there have been a flurry of comments lately…

I'll second SabreSquadron, but lately I've been really enjoying someone's homebrewed game called Able Archer. It's simpler, and I just finished creating a rules revision that I think is much easier to read. PM me if interested. Seems like everything you're looking for.

Another vote for Sabresquadron. Down load the free version to try it.

Thanks to all that responded.

@ Josta59 – would love to take a look at the Able Archer rules you mentioned. My email is jcqslabbertATgmailDOTcom

@ Dark Knights and Bloody Dawns – Had a quick look now at A Torrent of Steel. Seems to be what I was looking for.

Will also have a look at Sabresquadron, Team Yankee and Five Core Company Command.

My FiveCore rules will do most of those things.

No air (outside an infantry commanders perspective really), but you can play a company vs company battle on your own in an hour or so, maybe hour and a half.

Includes some random army tables, campaigns and solo bits.

Do note that it's not aimed at gearheads. Tanks get abstracted a fair bit.

Why not just go large with FiveCorp Brigade Commander?
