I thought you might be interested in seeing my Napoleonic Ottoman Turks (Minifigs, Lancashire Games and Irregular Miniatures figures) take on my Russians (mostly Warrior figures with some Minifigs and Lancashire Games horse artillery figures). abcwargamers.blogspot.co.uk |

Looks good. What rules did you use? |

That game looked great! And yes…I'm sure it was just the dice to blame…. |

Nice – I've often fancied doing this period As an aside I used to run the Avalon Hill War and Peace boardgame as a play-by-mail game. One of the optional rules was a Russo-Turkish war which simply removed several Russian units from the game. Instead of that I drew up a compatible map of southern Russian and included it in the main pbm game. If i recall correctly it played out like the Korean war with the Turks initially sweeping all before them until the Russians finally got their act together. |

Very nice. Always wanted to build Ottoman Turks for Egypt and beyond. Maybe if I retire. Sounds like the rules were Black Powder? Nicely done. |

Hi We used our own variant of the Lillibulero Rules with changes to add in Napoleonic bits, squares, skirmishers and some horse and gun types etc (not as difficult as it sounds). We had used them for some 18th century games and they worked, so rather than learn a new set of rules, we just modified what we had. Worked for us. More importantly the rules worked out cheap. Rules are so expensive these days. Hi Shedman Like the sounds of your map. I have tried on a few occasions to use maps, but get a bit lost (no pun intended) in working out movement rates etc |

Looks like a fun battle. I've noticed from the morale level the Ottomans tend to have, they don't do so well with defense. Being brittle, they need to be aggressive which is what they did in this game. I finished up my Ottomans recently (on my blog) and look forward to a big battle with them like this. |
