I try to do a little report of the last battle played with this 15mm rulesheet that I've adapted, I hope to have a blog in the future to put more detailed reports.

This rulesheet is based on the disruption of units rather than eliminating figures. The units that reach 5 points should check moral for "desorganized unit", if they 10 or more, the unit is completely disorganized and them is routed. Disorganization points are indicated with figures of casualties.

The scenario was raised with an encounter between a British force and a French force with german allies. It was agreed to organize the forces on 1500 points.

The British formed with two infantry brigades, one British and one of Hesse-Kassel and a cavalry brigade composed of British and Hanover dragoons and Brunswick Hussars. Both infantry brigades has an artillery battery each attached.

The French formed with three infantry brigades, two entirely French and other of saxons with a light French unit attached. The Cavalry Brigade was formed with the guard troops, Garde du Corps and Gendarmerie de France.

The deployment was made secretly but interestingly both sides were arranged similarly with the cavalry in the center to provide support to the infantry brigades.

The land was flat with a river in the British border and a farm on the british left flank. The brigade of Hesse-Kassel formed with the farm behind him with orders to stay and hold the position.

In the initials turns the brigades of both side makes its movement and take positions.

The british cavalry and infantrybrigades was forced to form column and cross the river by the bridge and a ford, the heavy artillery of Hanover was placed on the river bank where he could beat the brigade of Saxony.

Been some time since I read up on such things (like twenty years or more) but shouldn't the Saxons be in yellow – or was the the Swedes?

What rules, please?

HI,

the saxons infantry regiments were dressed in white with diferent regimental colours (Green, Dark and light blue, dark and light red and yellow), only Leibgrenadier Garde and von Rochow fusiliers were dressed in different colours (Red for grenadiers and green for fusiliers. Regiments shown in the pictures are "Lubomirsky" (White uniform with yellow facings) and Kurprinzesern Grenadierbattalion (White with light blue facinsgs). Swedish infantry uniform was blue with several facings colours mainly yellow.

The rules are my own adaptation of an old rulesheet titled "The Age of Malborough" edited by Gladiator Games, I talk about it at the beginning of this report.

Regards
