Hello folks, I am looking to build a small warband in 30mm scale and I need your advice regarding a few miniatures I'd like to include. So the base model I already own is Kenjiro from Tale of War: link I assume this one is 30mm scale, but there is no specific indication in their shop. I also bought Aokage from the same range and that miniature is considerably smaller in scale, probably closer to 28mm. Before I proceed to buy more miniatures, I have to make sure they are the same scale as Kenjiro. Bushido and Kensei have interesting ones – does anybody know how they compare to Kenjiro? Thanks in advance! |

I must honestly say that I had never heard of Tale of War, so I don't have anything to compare with. Do you have some other common range (say, warhammer or something)? If you could post a picture with a size comparison, it would be easier to answer. Unfortunately, there are as many variations of how big a "30mm" model is as there are companies, so it's hard to say without any comparison pictures. |

Hey, thanks for your answer. Sadly I don't have anything in 28mm/30mm to compare, but surely there must be somebody who ordered from Tale of War before :) |

Tale of War minis tend to be fairly tall for the males. Kensei minis are very tall, closer to 1/48 (~36mm) than 30mm. IIRC, Bushido minis are closer to 30mm. |

I read the comment about Kensei being 36mm and checked mine. The standing figures seem to me to be around 32mm to the top of the head unless you're counting the helmet furniture as well. I used calipers to measure from the bottom of the foot (surface of the base) to the eyes.
- Kensei from foot to eye – 29.8mm to 30.6mm
- Steel Fist Miniatures – 29-30 mm (approx)
- North Star – 27.6mm
This is North Star – Kensei – Kensei
This is Kensei – Steel Fist – Steel Fist – Kensei

I may have that backwards, then. Kensei minis at 30mm and Bushido at 36. Been a while since I looked. |
