Hey there people, Wondering if you guys could help me out. I'm looking for help figuring out which bases I should get for my 15mm figures. I'm really looking for the thinnest bases possible. I have been thinking about using the litko .8mm plywood with their stick on flexible steel base bottoms. Are any of you doing this? How has that worked out for you? I have seen a few companies carrying metal bases, but can't really tell how ridgid or thick these are. If you can share your experiences or point me in the right direction, I would appreciate it. Cheers |

I use PWS steel bases which are about 0.8mm thick but postage from the UK to Canada would possibly make them an expensive option. I expect there are similar available closer to home. They are totally rigid and being galvanised they won't rust. They won't warp either like lots of other materials seem to. |

I use the 0.8 Litko bases for most all of my figs now, 30mmx30mm, 60mmx30mm, 25mmx25mm, 30mmx15mm, and some custom ones for my 1/2400 sailing ships. Most of mine are on magnetic bases, but a few are on steel bases. Getting the self adhesive bottoms lined up properly takes some patience, but I love the outcome. I have had no warping issues, and I use them for 6mm and 15mm figs. The magnetic base bottoms allow me to use steel bases as trays for other systems. (eg. BBB 60x30mm doubled to 60x60mm for Polemos) Brian |

Shogun miniatures. metal bases cut to any size you wish. the metal would be super thin, super strong and rigid. I use them a lot. if you put the miniature on the metal base, it'd be super thin and can then be stored using a magnet. or you can use thier magnet bases, which would not be as thin as the metal but as thin as anything litko makes, and then the miniatures would stick to metal… |

I use the metal bases – about the thickness of heavy card stock, or maybe a bit more. Cheap, easy ro use, and everything then gets stored on magnet lined boxes for transport etc. Plus, you can then "rebase" by just cutting sheet magnet to make movement trays with scissors. I sell the brand by Wargames Accessories but yes, shipping to Canada will be a bitch. They're very hevay (duh!) |
