The Perrys posted new stuff for January. Most pleased to see Union soldiers in Frock coats firing and command in Frocks. Hope hope hope to see marching poses soon.

Sweet. About time they add more to the range.

I'm with you, Avid Gamer. Iron Brigade, right shoulder shift – please?

d effinger16 Jan 2016 1:00 p.m. PST

I'd just want Frock coat, Forage cap, no gaiters, not Iron Brigade in marching poses. Same equipment as sculpt but marching. The Perry's made this for Wargames Foundry but the figures seem waaaay too well fed and they have some sort of Roman gladius or Macedonian kopis (obviously it isn't but.. sure looks like it!). I have lots of Iron Brigade dudes painted so don't need more.

I've been waiting for their Sharpshooters.

Well, how about some Iron Brigade heads?

d effinger18 Jan 2016 10:55 a.m. PST

Yeah Iron Brigade heads would be nice. I'll give you that. My problem is that I need a whole brigade of Frock coats and Forage coats but… I really rather see marching poses for the most part. I'll hold off buying these and see if they ever do marching.

I have the Wargames Foundry figs but the newish Perry sculpting is better on these newer figs then the ones from their Foundry days. The Redoubt Frock coat figures are not very good. I have a bunch but they are POORLY cast with horrible mold lines which are near impossible to fix. I have stopped buying any Redoubt figs because of this problem and other past miscast figs from them. I guess they just don't give a hoot.

What unit are you working on?

ACW Gamer,

Burling's NJ brigade at Gettysburg. The entire brigade wore Frocks during the campaign.

1st Corps have just released some frockcoated troops in Kepi/Forage cap? ACW50 is listed as 'Advancing' rather than marching?

d effinger05 Feb 2016 6:25 p.m. PST

"Advancing" is probably not the marching poses: Right Shoulder Shift, Shoulder Arms or Support Arms. Those are all poses that soldiers would march using if you don't count Route Step which was a more relaxed marching order and in no way a 'military' looking order. I think a lot of European sculptors seem to think this was common in the ACW and it was not.

Don,

I should have Federals in frock coat and forage caps at Cold Wars.

Chris,

Nice. I'll buy some too.

d effinger09 Feb 2016 5:10 p.m. PST

Chris,

This is GREAT news!!!!!!!!!!!! I know they will look fantastic so I am pumped! Burling's brigade will finally take the field as they should look although… I have to paint them so… it might take awhile. Sad they don't paint themselves.

Thanks,

Don

Due to the large range of separate heads in our range, frock coats and Kepi are already possible in right shoulder shift. Just email me.thanks.

Disco Joe15 Feb 2016 1:37 p.m. PST

Chris, what poses will they be available in?
