"Last week, North Korea lit off a nuke and put the global community into full-on denunciation mode. As part of the global response, the US sent a nuclear-capable B-52 bomber to saunter through the neighborhood, signaling that, indeed, two can play at that game, and North Korea better have a long, hard think about whether it wants to get into a nuclear slap fight with the United States.

Along with the fly-by, there's been an uptick in discussion about sending more US military stuff to the region, both to back up the US's buddies in South Korea and to give the guys in North Korea some pause should they have any bright ideas about crossing the Demilitarized Zone, or DMZ. In other words, classic deterrence…"

There are limits to what the U.S. military can do conventionally. But if the U.S. should find itself involved in a number of major wars across the globe …. against North Korea, Iran, China, Russia, etc. …. and his allies are too slow to respond and/or unwilling to fight …. the temptation to use nuclear weapons would then become more than tempting … it would become a certainty.!

The German Army is in a rather sad state, no help here:

Don't know about France, but I suspect the situation isn't much better
The British Army is in a state of Drawdown, the might have 1 division that can help…
Israel would probably need a crapload of logistical support to her her divisions rolling
South Korea I don't know but should be able to handle North Korea.
I know for a fact that at least 2 of our heavy divisions are undeployable…
oh and we are broke!
we are in a sad state for conventional war
