I don't believe, I can't believe, refuse to accept, I wasted 3 hours of my precious time watching this drrrrrrreck. Incest- british casually shooting surrendered French in masse, a French army of maybe 40, Portuguese 20 and 16 British,? Dreadful , absolutely dreadful, watch "Unser Vater Unser Mutter " instead…………

Don't hold back, tell us how you really feel. :-)

It was certainly not your traditional movie structure. It showed the lives of various characters and how they were impacted by the war. I don't recall there being an actual plot as such. The acting was fine and the uniforms too (I think only movie I have ever seen showing what Portugese uniforms look like); just not very exciting, no suspense. There was only one scene that had to do with the title of the movie in which a British Major explains what Wellington's Lines are to a lady by showing her on a map. So definitely not a cinematic masterpiece but not a bomb either. I give it 2 stars out of 4.

It was better than "Gods and Generals" or "The Field of Lost Shoes".

Not the best Napoleonic film out there, and John Malkovich should never have been cast as Wellington.

Sorry to say but 'Gods and Generals' and 'Field of lost Shoes' had this dreg beat hands down. Even though the afore mentioned were not that good, Lines of wellington was really, really, bad!
