For anyone attending Siege of Augusta (in Augusta GA this weekend), we will be running our Christmas Day Attack Battle of the Bulge game. The Germans last all out attempt to take Bastogne.

Its a great introduction to the Combat Command rules and features lots of snow. So if your at the con come by and learn how to play.

I've just finished a revised OB for the battle which will eventually go into our Battle of the Bulge Game package but for now I'm giving it out for free (just email me at TomAndKate@aol.com).

And of course you can get copies of Combat Command (both basic and advanced rules) at WargamesVault.

Thanks to all that participated in the Christmas Day Attack at Siege of Augusta. The game got overfilled and I added as many extra players as I could – sorry that I could not acomodate everyone that wanted to play. I offically had room for six and added several more and still had to turn players away.

I will run a bigger game at NashCon and Historicon.

We got almost exactly the actually historical result with the German Pz IV's being blasted by the pack 7.5 gun line in almost the same spot as the real attack came to grief. Good game by both sides – and very fun to run.

On a related note sorry that I ran out of hard copy rule books. I only print up a few – the best way to get the rules is to go out to WargamesVault (both Basic and Advance Games are available. And cheaper than buying the hard copy from me.

What could a pack 75 do to a Pz IV?

With HEAT ammo it can knock it out.

In the actual battle that is exactly what happened.

Couple odd facts – prior to the battle it was suggested that this was impossible and the pak gunners enjoyed showing off their kills after the battle to doubters.

The key was HEAT ammo – it was one of the few types NOT in short supply at the time.

Again results almost perfectly tracked the historical outcome.
